1) How do I choose a plan? Bronze, Silver or Gold?
Assess your needs and future plans, it is always possible to upgrade.

Basic presentation website : Bronze
Website with interactive forms, or FrontPage development : Silver
Ecommerce site : Gold

2) How do I sign up?
Visit our hosting packages page and select a package there. Choose Bronze, Silver or Gold package, monthly or yearly billing.

3) How can I pay?
We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express and online cheques through our payment service providers, Clickbank and Revecom. These specialty payment processing companies employ state of the art security encryption protecting your information with the industry standard 128BIT SSL.

We also accept cheques, and money orders payable to Exclaim Internet Services by snail mail at:

Be sure to note the difference between US and CDN funds! Due to processing time of checks we will hold your domain name during processing until payment clears.

4) What do I need to do to get started (domain name pointing)? Domains registered with Exclaim Domain Name are automatically correctly configured for our hosting packages.
If you already have a domain name registered you (as the administrative contact for the domain name) must change your domain name to point at our name servers.
Go to your domain registrar and change the information to:

Primary Server Hostname: ns1.gearth.com
Primary Server IP: 66.96.247.44

Secondary Server Hostname: ns2.gearth.com
Secondary Server IP: 66.96.247.45

If you choose to receive a free domain name with our annual webhosting the changes above will already be made.

5) How do I FTP?
You will receive an activation email that includes information on how to upload your website to your hosting space, an example of which is below:

USERID: yourdomain
PASSWORD: ***** (in activation email)
FTP HOSTNAME: ftp.yourdomain.com (temporarily until your domain is visible, use one of the temporary FTP HOSTNAME addresses given above.)

Keep in mind if you are transferring a domain name that has not been registered through us that DNS records are modified at your the Domain Name Registrar you used. These changes take time during which your domain name may not be visible to internet browsers for up to 48 hours, for this reason if you have an active website it is preferable to have an overlap of hosting during a change over. A temporary FTP HOSTNAME: 24.65.186.22 will remedy this shorterm problem and allow you to upload web information even before the domain name fully resolves to the new address.

NOTE: If you have FrontPage extensions installed, you should NEVER use regular FTP to upload your files. This will damage the extensions. Stick with one or the other all the time. By default your domain does not have frontpage extensions installed.

6) How long does it take to setup my account and domain name?
New accounts are set up in less than 24 hours. Once an account is set up an activation notice will be sent to you via e-mail including your user-ID, password and FTP host-name. You can begin uploading files to your new web site immediately.

7) How do I transfer files to my web-page?
If you are using FrontPage go on publish , type in your web address user name and password.
For any other Program you have to use FTP.( direct your FTP Program to the folder "public_html") this is your web server root.

8) Do you provide technical support?
Yes. We encourage our customers in need of assistance to send e-mail to admin@exclaim-domain-hosting.com with questions or concerns about their web site. However, we provide technical support only, we cannot provide help with HTML syntax or CGI programming problems. Tech support is done 5 days a week.

9) Can I have more than one domain name pointing to my site?
Yes, you can have up to 5 domains pointing to any site we host.

10) Can I get additional FTP, and POP3 accounts?
Yes, you can set these up using your online control panel.

11) Can I install my own CGI scripts?
Yes, with our silver and gold packages, several pre-configured useful CGI scripts are available in the CGI center and you may install other scripts also.

10) What type of EMAIL accounts do I get with my hosting account?
POP 3, email forwarding and web mail email accounts are available and configureable through the online control panel.

11) Do you maintain backup of my data?
Yes, all websites are backed up daily and the latest back up is available to download at any time.

12) Can you register a domain name for me?
Yes, please register domains at our partner site Exclaim Domain Name

13)What is your connection to the internet?
Each of the Network Operation Centers (NOC) features high level security, raised flooring, climate-control, UPS power supply, fire suppression system as well as multiple redundant connections to major backbones such as UUNET, Level3, Genuity, Sprint and Verizon. Each NOC is also equipped with backup batteries and diesel generators, Cisco routers and switches; and is staffed 24x7 by qualified system administrators and engineers. All servers are secured in a state of the art Smart POP; monitored by both on hand technicians, IP cameras and door security via Hand geometry reader; OC3C connections are physically diverse and Sonet protected; dual power feeds backed up with UPS, Rectifiers, Batteries and Generator to ensure our customers have near zero down time.
